From Wagner to Adler

In Jamaica, I read (and finished), Robert Wagner’s new book, You Must Remember This. The book chronicles Wagner’s life and experiences being an up and coming actor during Hollywood’s golden age. The book was fabulous, especially if you are a fan of history and Hollywood, as Wagner takes you through the development of Hollywood from a small western town with no alcohol, to the glamorous city we know today. What I enjoyed most about the book, was hearing about how many of the movers and shakers of old Hollywood lived … their houses, how they entertained, and who they invited. And I can’t help but think that Jonathan Adler’s new Jacques collection is inspired by all of these people and their stories …

A Very Happy Anniversary

It has been two years since our wedding day, and in celebration of our anniversary I thought I would share some of our wedding photos. I have never shared any wedding photos – not on the blog, or on Facebook – so you’re seeing them here first. As Drayton Hall no longer does events at the site, we were so fortunate to have had our wedding there. As you can see from the pictures, Drayton Hall really stole the show. If you’re ever in the Charleston area, I strongly encourage you visit Drayton Hall – built in 1738, it is the finest example of Georgian Palladian architecture in the country. To cap off beach week here at Lacquered Life, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite Instagram shots from our trip to Jamaica Inn last year.
